Report Illegal Abortions Says Operation Rescue

After a jury found Kermit Gosnell guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies and involuntary manslaughter in the death of a woman seeking an abortion, he waived his right to an appeal in order to avoid the death penalty. He now will spend the rest of his life in prison.

That might have been the end of the sensational story of the gruesome activities of abortionists who perform so-called late-term abortions. After all, according to the propagandistic documentary After Tiller, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, with the death of George Tiller, there are now “only four abortionists in America who perform late-term abortions.

But, as Jill Stanek wrote at (5/17/13) “there are way more than four,” and we’re now learning of one in Texas who murdered born-alive babies in ways that are even more brutal than Gosnell’s. Stanek says, “Three former employees of late-term abortionist Douglas Karpen of Houston, Texas, have come forward, with photographic and video evidence that he murdered born babies in heinous ways and also committed abortions far beyond the legal limit.”

The three women took action to report the illegal abortions after receiving a postcard from Operation Rescue, which has sent cards to every abortion center in the country with a picture of a baby whose neck had been snipped juxtaposed with a picture of Kermit Gosnell. The bottom of the card reads, “Don’t go to jail for something your employer is doing or told you to do.”  It also gives contact information for Operation Rescue and offers a $25,000 reward for information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of an abortionist who is breaking the law.

The three women who reported the activities of Douglas Karpen are now connected with attorneys at Alliance Defending Freedom, who helped them contact authorities in Texas.

We can pray that more workers at abortion facilities, most of whom are women, will contact those in the pro-life community who can put them in contact with lawyers and police authorities, and who will also help them find forgiveness and healing for their roles abortions by introducing them to the One who is the Help of the helpless and the Hope of the hopeless. As Matthew 12:20 says, Jesus will never break a bruised reed or quench a smoking flax. He has promised, “the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out” (John 6:37).

Open Adoption Option

This week I will have the privilege to once again visit the Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach (APO) center in College Station, Texas.   The Executive Director, Kim Schams, is an individual whom I admire deeply for her daily, life-affirming work.

Kim and her team strive to see that children born from unplanned pregnancies, all across Texas are raised in nurturing families who are ready and prepared for them.  In addition to full adoption services, the APO team comes alongside teen moms who choose to parent, to help prepare them to be the best moms they can be. Don’t Be Deceived–Their Business Is Abortion, Not “Healthcare”

A recent poll conducted for the National Right to Life Committee showed that more than half of Americans (55 percent) don’t know that Planned Parenthood (PP) does abortions — let alone that it is the biggest abortion provider in the United States.

Students for Life of America reports that the percentage of those who are unaware of PP’s true activities is even higher among college students. At least 60 percent of college students do not know PP does abortions, even though more than 50 percent of Planned Parenthood’s abortions are done on teenagers and college-aged women. Oh No! I’m Pregnant! What Do I Do?

When faced with an unplanned pregnancy what do you do? Your body is telling you that something has changed. Within a few weeks you start to notice your breasts are tender and may even be swelling a little. You feel a kind of “fullness” in your body. Perhaps you’re feeling nausea in the morning, and need more sleep, and certain foods or smells make your stomach queasy. Continue reading

Gosnell Trial: Abortion Kills Children

As the jury entered its fifth day of deliberations in the murder trial of Kermit Gosnell, they had only considered page one of the 14 pages outlining 268 charges against the abortion doctor.  The horrific charges, graphically revealed during the past several weeks, have barely received notice by most media outlets, and yet, the trial is about the killing of children, and a young woman! Plan B is Bad News for Teen Girls

“There is not enough data on the health effects of Plan B on teen girls”, says HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

“Young people have approximately half of all sexually transmitted infections (STIs) nationwide. The availability of Plan B (Morning After Pill birth control), over-the-counter for all ages, would bypass necessary routine medical care for sexually active teens”, says Jeanne Monahan, Director of Family Research Council’s Center for Human Dignity.

Two voices, which might disagree on other topics, agree on this one: Plan B Morning After Pills are not in the best interest of young women. And yet, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has now approved the sale of this poorly tested drug, without a prescription, to girls as young as 15 years old.  Our sisters, our nieces, our daughters and granddaughters will no doubt be the target of major marketing campaigns.  Planned Parenthood has already hailed the FDA announcement as “good news”.

What is good about a drug that could be used to cover coerced sexual activity, forced by a predator?  What is good about an easily accessible drug that may cause serious harm to a young woman with pre-existing medical conditions that may only be known by mom and dad?  Why should we celebrate a drug that doesn’t protect girls from STIs’, which currently infect over 110 million?  Nor will Plan B won’t protect young women from a broken heart.

In spite of the drug maker’s admission that the drug can cause an abortion, the FDA in announcing the expanded availability of the Plan B Morning After Pill denied this fact.

President Obama has until May 5 to appeal the FDA decision. Perhaps he will share the concerns of his HHS Secretary.  My prayer is that the President will respond with a father’s heart, protecting daughters across America.

Moms and Dads have a great opportunity to use this news as a conversation starter with their teen girls.  Let them know of their value and worth, of your unconditional love for them, and God’s plan for healthy sexuality, saved for the marriage bed. Keep communication lines open with your teen and pray with them to stay pure for their future spouse.  Talk to your daughters before someone else encourages them to get birth control.  Need help with this conversation?  Contact the Medical Institute for Sexual Health at

Has Planned Parenthood Fooled You?

If you are a female in college, be warned that you are a target for Planned Parenthood’s marketing schemes, and they are not honest.

Of course, this abortion industry giant has laid the foundation for their trickery long before you arrived on campus.  In fact, they began to woo you back in middle school.

Remember the nice lady from Planned Parenthood who volunteered to speak to your health class, or perhaps your gym class?   You may have been surprised to hear that she just assumed you were, or would be, sexually active before marriage.  She told you that waiting until marriage is impossible, and though your parents may not understand your hormones, you could trust Planned Parenthood to listen and to offer the help you need to enjoy safe sex. Fetal Pain Laws Are Now in Place in Eleven States

North Dakota is the most recent state to ban abortions after 20 weeks. Research on fetal pain now shows that at 20 weeks of gestation, the baby’s pain receptors are fully developed. In fact, at this stage of development, each side of the brain has a billion nerve cells.

In signing the bill, Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple stated, “Although the likelihood of this measure surviving a court challenge remains in question, this bill is nevertheless a legitimate attempt by a state legislature to discover the boundaries of Roe v. Wade.” Continue reading

Silence of Media Threatens Women and Children

If you do not receive pro-life news updates via e-mail, or search for information on pro-life or pro-family websites, you may not be aware of the ongoing murder trial of abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He is charged with eight counts of murder – the death of a 41 year old woman who died during an abortion at his clinic, and the death of seven babies who survived abortion, born alive and then killed by severing their spinal cords with scissors. Speak Out For Those Who Have No Voice

Before the children of Israel crossed the Jordan River to enter the Promised Land, Moses gave them an “object lesson” to remind them of God’s commands once they entered Canaan, a land filled with idolatry. He charged half of the tribes to stand on Mount Gerizim and the other six to stand on Mount Ebal.

Mount Gerizim represented God’s blessings; Mount Ebal represented the curses that would come upon those who disobeyed God’s commands. Continue reading
